MIC Powder

A powerful collapsible agent to weaken the surface tension forces of Sodium Silicate bonded CO, sand moulds / cores thereby allowing for easy breaking of the cores/moulds.

Method of Use

  • Without MIC Powder
  • With MIC Powder
  • Typical Analysis
  • Improves surface finish
    • Add 0.5-1.0% MIC Powder by weight of CO₂ sand
    • Thoroughly mix for 1-2 minutes
    • Add 4-6% of Sodium Silicate and follow regular practice
    • Sand is ready for core/mould making

MI Hot top Compound

An Exothermic compound releases enormous amount energy, and transforms itself into an excellent insulating cover to hold the temperature of the liquid metal

Method Of Use

    After completing the puring of the liquid metal into the moulds, cover the entire portion of all the raisers areas with MI Hot Top Compound

MI Pitch Powder

An eco-friendly finishing additive based on indigenous raw materials; used as green sand mould additive for better surface finish of castings. It is a replacement to coal dust, lustrous carbon.

Advantages

  • Free from toxic gases
  • Improves Surface Finish - due to the non-wetting characteristics between the mould surface and molten metal
  • Eliminates sand related rejections - by reducing the build-up of fines in sand system
  • Improves mould rigidity, reducing fettling costs
  • Can be stored for long periods without formation of lumps

Method of Use

  • Add 0.5% 1.0% by weight of MI Pitch Powder and calculated percentage of bentonite clay.
  • Mull it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add water to the sand and mull mix for 1-2 minutes
  • Sand system is ready for use.
